I have stayed at the Dneipro many times and it has always been a positive experience.
My two most important qualifications for a Kiev hotel are location and quality of
breakfast. Of course, a modern, renovated room is important as well. Dneipro has all of
these things. It is also very secure and your possessions are all quite safe in your
room. The location is among the best in the city, 1 minute walk to the main street and 10
minute walk to the Dneipr. What's not to like?

I had the pleasure of staying at the Dnipro hotel in May, 2007. The hotel is clean and
well-kept and has a terrific location. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a nice
variety of dishes. Great hotel with great rates. I highly recommend it.
Ukraina hotel, Kiev:

We stayed at the Ukraine hotel for three days in March, 2004. The service was excellent and the rooms were cozy. The location was perfect - right next to a metro station. The view of Nezaleznist Square from our room was fantastic.
Tourist hotel, Kiev:

Stayed here breifly in Jan 2007. Hotel staff was friendly enough, and some even spoke
decent English. Hotel is good for travelers with a low budget. Nice location on left bank
of Dniepro close to Livoberizhna (sp?) subway station. The room was nice and clean.
There's a pretty cool nightclub inside the hotel with lots of girls. If you get hungry,
McDonald's is right across the street. I would stay here again (I mean at the Tourist).
Natsionalny hotel, Kiev:

Have been to Ukraine multiple times in the last four years, and this is the place I prefer to stay in Kyiv. Great service, good food, friendly staff, nice rooms. The price is right and the location is excellent. I plan to stay here again on future trips.
Hotel Kozatsky, Kiev:

The hotel looks very nice from outside, its located in the center and if
you wont spend much time in your room its ok (not more). It is a really
simple hotel! There isnt much water for showering, if you try to get the
most out of it the plumbing is jolting - i was there during summer (and
dont want to know how it is like in december). I stayed there because I
thought I would have a great view on the main square, but I couldnt open
the windows. And the only thing I could see was a side street and the
walls of the hotel. Positive: Clean, relatively friendly clerks (no
english of course, but somehow you always get what you want, or something
close to it). Breakfast was ok!
Hotel Sport was better! But Hotel Kozatsky has a nicer surrounding.
